HELP

We are a very active rescue with a wonderful core group of volunteers. However, we need you! Please click on the buttons below to learn how you can help save the lives of Golden Retrievers.

We have something for everyone to do, regardless of your location or time restrictions! So, what are you waiting for? Come join us and help make a difference!!

Foster Care
Foster Homes are vital to the successful placement of our rescues and is an extremely rewarding experience. We always have a need for foster homes! You would be responsible for the day to day care of the foster dog (feeding, exercising, socializing, etc) while in your home. These fosters should be treated as a member of your family! You always have the freedom to deny a request from the administrators to foster, or to set specific limits such as time contraints, gender, and other restrictions. We have need for both short term and long term fostering. If you are interested in becoming an approved foster home, please complete a FOSTER APPLICATION and return it to us. We will be in contact with you to set up a home visit!

Home Visits
We are always looking for people, both in and out of our immediate area, who are available to go to a potential adoptor's home to evaluate the family and living conditions. This is also a vital step in the adoption process. All applications must have a satisfactory home visit before being considered for an adoption. We provide training and guidance along with a checklist of things to look for and questions to ask. You would then report back to one of the administrators with your evaluation results. Your evaluation is taken into consideration when making the decision to approve or deny an adoption request.

Transports
Transporters are needed for a variety of reasons. Often goldens are brought to our rescue from outside our immediate area. Someone is needed to meet the golden enroute and deliver it to the rescue. Also, transporters are sometimes used to deliver a selected golden to a new forever home or to and from the vet's office. Obviously, reliable transportation is necessary!

Shelter Walkers and Evaluators
Volunteers are needed to scout out local shelters and humane societies for goldens who need a home. Also, in the case of an owner surrender, we need people skilled in the art of evaluating a dog's temperment. We have a detailed checklist of behaviors to look for to determine the adoptability of a golden.

Genuardi's Club Card
Being a non-profit organization, Genaurdi's has a program that gives a percentage of their sales back to us. We need everyone to register their Genaurdi's club card online at www.eScrip.com. Once you have registered your card everytime you shop and swipe your card you will be helping us to earn money to help to take care of these wonderful dogs! This is a great opportunity for everyone to become involved!

Sunshine Committee
Our sunshine committe is responsible for sending out thank you cards for donations, following up with new adoptions to make sure everyone is happy, and keeping track of our volunteers' birthdays! This is accomplished through email, phone calls and letters. This is an ideal spot for you stay at home people that want to get involved!

Fund Raising
From time to time, we have a need to raise funds - normally to cover an extrordinary medical expense. We are open to new ideas and suggestions for raising funds. We also have various items for sale and could always use help peddling our wares!

Donations
Being a volunteer organization, money is always tight. Medical expenses can be astronomical. If you would like to donate any amount, please either contact us or use the paypal button found above. You donation is greatly appreciate!
